Lagos, Nigeria – March 2026

Marketing and media professionals, Anietie Udoh and Amina Omoike, are among key speakers expected at the third edition of the International Women’s Day (IWD) Young Girls in School Initiative organised by Event Diary Lifestyle.

The programme is scheduled to hold on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Hiana Event Hall, Ojodu Abiodun, Ogun State, and is expected to host between 150 and 200 secondary school girls drawn from invited schools across Lagos and Ogun States.

The initiative, which has steadily grown since its inception, is the flagship programme of Event Diary Lifestyle aimed at inspiring, mentoring, and preparing young girls for a confident and purpose-driven future.

This year’s edition aligns with the global celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 and will be held under the theme “Skill in Her Hands, Confidence in Her Heart,” reflecting the broader message of “Give to Gain.” The programme is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge, mentorship, and creative skills that can support their personal development and leadership journey.

Delivering the keynote address is Anietie Udoh, Divisional Director, Marketing at Marketing Edge Publications Ltd. Udoh will speak on the topic “Empowering the Girl Child for Leadership and Lifelong Impact,” where he is expected to encourage students to build confidence, embrace leadership opportunities, and prepare for future success.

Also speaking at the event is Amina Omoike, Group Head, Media Services at MediaCraft, who will engage the students in a session focused on self-discovery, encouraging them to identify their talents and abilities as pathways to personal growth and achievement.

A major highlight of the programme will be a hands-on creative workshop where participating students will learn the art of hair fascinator making. The session will be facilitated by Adejoke Ogunbona, Chief Executive Officer of Unique World of Accessories, who will guide the girls through the creative process while also introducing them to entrepreneurial opportunities within the craft and fashion industry.

Speaking ahead of the programme, Princess Adeola Shittu, Founder of Event Diary Lifestyle, emphasised the importance of mentorship and early exposure to practical skills in shaping the future of young girls.

According to her, the initiative seeks to inspire young girls to believe in their potential while equipping them with knowledge and skills that can support their long-term aspirations.

“Our goal is to inspire young girls to believe in themselves, discover their potential, and develop skills that will prepare them for leadership and lifelong impact,” she said.

Event Diary Lifestyle also called on organisations, partners, and individuals to support the initiative as part of broader efforts to empower the girl child through education, mentorship, and skills development.

Event Diary Lifestyle is a media and social impact platform committed to community development through events, mentorship programmes, and empowerment initiatives. Its flagship programme, Young Girls in School, focuses on inspiring and equipping young girls with the confidence, skills, and guidance needed to thrive in today’s world.
