Truecaller Hits 500 Million Users, Deepens Global Push for Safer Communication

Global, March 31, 2026 – Truecaller has crossed a major global milestone, surpassing 500 million users worldwide, as demand for secure and trusted communication continues to surge in an increasingly digital world.

The achievement reflects not just rapid growth, but a shifting global reality—where protection against spam, scams and unwanted calls has become essential to everyday communication. In 2025 alone, the platform added over 50 million new users, while its footprint outside India expanded significantly, now exceeding 150 million users.

Truecaller’s momentum is also translating into revenue growth, with the platform surpassing 4 million paying subscribers globally earlier this year, reinforcing its subscription business as a key driver of sustainability.

For Chief Executive Officer, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, the milestone represents more than scale—it signals trust.

“This milestone reflects the growing need for people to feel safe in their daily communication,” he said. “Reaching 500 million users shows the level of trust people place in Truecaller to help them navigate spam, scams and unknown contacts. Our focus remains on strengthening our technology to protect users at every stage of communication.”

From its origins as a caller identification tool, Truecaller has evolved into a comprehensive digital utility platform—one that now plays a central role in how hundreds of millions of people interact safely over their phones. Beyond identifying unknown numbers, it enables users to verify identities, block fraudulent calls and make informed decisions about who they engage with.

With more than one billion downloads globally and an estimated 68 billion spam and fraud calls identified in 2025 alone, the platform has become a critical layer of trust in the modern communication ecosystem.

Despite its vast global reach, Truecaller operates with a relatively lean structure, supported by a workforce of about 470 employees managing and innovating the platform across multiple markets.

Headquartered in Stockholm and listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm since 2021, the company continues to position itself at the forefront of secure communication technology.

Looking ahead, Truecaller is setting its sights on an even more ambitious target—reaching one billion users globally—as it continues to expand its capabilities and redefine the standards of trust in digital communication.
