NPRW 2026: NIPR Announces Amb. Dr. Brylyne Chitsunge as Keynote Speaker
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has unveiled Her Excellency, Ambassador Dr. Brylyne Chitsunge, Pan-African Parliament Ambassador for Food Security and Chief Executive Officer of Elpasso Farms, South Africa, as the keynote speaker for the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) Croc City 2026.
The highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place in Kaduna from April 19 to 25, 2026, bringing together leading voices from across Africa and beyond. This year’s theme, “Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate – The Imperatives of Public Relations,” will focus on the critical role of communication in addressing food security challenges.
Ambassador Chitsunge is widely regarded as a leading authority on food security, sustainable agriculture, and agribusiness development in Africa. With a career dedicated to empowering farmers—especially women and youth—she has consistently championed innovative and practical solutions to food insecurity across the continent.
As the first Pan-African Parliament Ambassador for Food Security, she has played a pivotal role in advancing continental dialogue on agriculture, climate resilience, and food systems transformation.
In addition to her advocacy, she is an accomplished agribusiness leader. Through Elpasso Farms, she has grown a modest farming operation into a diversified commercial enterprise, spanning livestock, aquaculture, and crop production, with established supply chains to major retail and hospitality markets.
Her global engagements further underscore her influence. She serves as a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, Co-Chair of the Phytomedicines Global Health Catalyst at Harvard Medical School, a strategic advisor to government policymakers, and a representative of cannabis industry stakeholders at the International Narcotics Control Board.
Ambassador Chitsunge has also delivered keynote speeches and contributed to high-level policy discussions across Africa, Europe, and the United States, focusing on food security, youth empowerment, agricultural innovation, and global health.
At NPRW 2026, her keynote address is expected to set the tone for the week-long event by exploring how strategic communication can bridge the gap between policy development and real-world impact in the food system. She will highlight the importance of public relations in shaping public perception, influencing behaviour, mobilising stakeholders, and ensuring that policies translate into measurable outcomes for communities.
Commenting on her selection, Chairman of the NPRW 2026 Planning Committee, Chief ‘Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, described her as a symbol of the intersection between policy, practice, and impact, expressing confidence that her address will inspire solution-oriented discussions throughout the conference.
Similarly, the President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, noted that her appointment reflects the Institute’s commitment to promoting African-led solutions and global expertise in national discourse. He added that her insights would reinforce the role of public relations in fostering development, building trust, and driving collective action within the agricultural sector.
NPRW 2026 is expected to attract over 2,000 participants, including policymakers, communication professionals, agribusiness leaders, development partners, and international stakeholders. The event will feature policy dialogues, technical sessions, youth engagements, and strategic roundtables aimed at generating actionable solutions to Nigeria’s food security challenges.
With the announcement of Ambassador Chitsunge as keynote speaker, anticipation continues to build for what is set to be a landmark edition of the Nigeria Public Relations Week.
