LAGOS, Nigeria – LG Electronics (LG) has concluded the inaugural season of its groundbreaking Make Life Good reality series, leaving a lasting legacy of transformed communities, empowered individuals and renewed hope across Africa through innovative technology and purposeful social impact initiatives.
Produced in partnership with MultiChoice, a Canal+ company, and hosted by acclaimed actress Jessica Dlamini, the Pan-African reality series demonstrated how LG’s cutting-edge technologies are solving real-life challenges while improving lives in communities across Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya.
Over six inspiring episodes, the series brought together accomplished Africans who returned to the communities that helped shape their success, partnering with LG to create lasting change by upgrading schools, vocational centres, children’s homes and community facilities with innovative home appliances and smart technologies.
The initiative reflects LG Electronics’ global “Life’s Good” philosophy, reinforcing the company’s belief that innovation should not only deliver convenience but also create meaningful opportunities, strengthen communities and improve everyday life.
Throughout the series, LG showcased a broad portfolio of innovative products, including Washing Machines, Dryers, InstaView™ Refrigerators, NeoChef™ Microwave Ovens, Dishwashers, OLED and QNED TVs, XBOOM Audio Systems, and DualCool Inverter Air Conditioners, demonstrating how technology can enhance education, healthcare, community development and overall quality of life.
Rather than simply renovating physical spaces, the Make Life Good initiative focused on creating environments where people can thrive. Every intervention restored dignity, inspired confidence and opened new opportunities for learning, growth and community engagement.
Speaking on the significance of the project, Jessica Dlamini, host of Make Life Good, described the series as a celebration of gratitude, purpose and giving back.
“What makes Make Life Good special is that it goes beyond transformation. It celebrates gratitude, purpose and giving back. Behind every successful person is a community, a mentor, a caregiver, or a safe space that helped shape their journey. Throughout this series, we have witnessed extraordinary individuals return to those places and create meaningful change for the next generation within 24 hours. These stories remind us that when people and technology come together with purpose, remarkable things happen.”
Six Episodes, Six Communities, Lasting Impact
The season opened in Nigeria, where legendary goalkeeper William Okpara spearheaded the transformation of a school sports facility that previously lacked proper laundry and changing room amenities for young athletes.
LG equipped the facility with a Washing Machine, Dryer and XBOOM Stage 301 Audio System, creating a cleaner, more organized and motivating environment that enables students to focus on developing their sporting talents.
The second episode featured renowned South African mountaineer Saray Khumalo, who helped transform a community centre with the installation of an LG InstaView Refrigerator, NeoChef Microwave Oven and Dishwasher. The upgraded facility now offers greater efficiency in meal preparation and food preservation while creating a more welcoming environment for community activities.
One of the season’s standout episodes showcased award-winning filmmaker Adze Ugah, who partnered with the BBM Foundation’s Bold Men Skills Programme in South Africa.
The vocational training centre received a major technological upgrade with a 100-inch LG QNED TV, XBOOM Audio System and DualCool Inverter Air Conditioner, transforming the facility into a modern learning environment where trainees can acquire vocational and digital skills in comfort while enjoying greater access to educational resources.
In Episode Four, Esther Munyi led the transformation of a children’s care facility by introducing an LG InstaView Refrigerator, NeoChef Microwave Oven and Washing Machine. The improvements significantly enhanced food storage, meal preparation and daily operations, allowing caregivers to devote more time and attention to supporting vulnerable children.
Episode Five focused on creating a safe, functional and empowering communal space for young women rebuilding their lives after hardship. Through LG’s innovative home solutions, the facility now provides an environment that promotes learning, personal development, comfort and community connection.
The season concluded with Perpetual Kendi, who transformed a youth-focused community facility using LG’s premium Audio System and Smart TV solutions, creating an engaging space that supports creativity, education, collaboration and youth development.
