Indigenous Itsekiri Brands Unite to Power 2026 Global Homecoming
WARri, Nigeria — Leading indigenous Itsekiri businesses have thrown their weight behind the Itsekiri Global Homecoming (IGHC) 2026, demonstrating a renewed commitment to promoting Itsekiri heritage, enterprise, culture and the development of the Warri Kingdom.
The landmark celebration, scheduled for August 16 to 23, 2026, is being held under the authority of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, and under the auspices of The Royal Order of Iwere (ROI). The week-long programme will bring together Itsekiri sons and daughters, friends, partners and members of the global diaspora to celebrate the rich heritage of Iwere while commemorating the 5th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty.
Among the prominent indigenous businesses supporting the Homecoming are Overland Airways, VouchLinks and REYON Water, which are contributing their expertise and resources towards creating a memorable experience for participants arriving from across Nigeria and around the world.
Overland Airways is supporting transportation for guests travelling into the region, helping reconnect returning Itsekiris and other visitors with the Homecoming. VouchLinks, a Nigerian peer-to-peer recommendation platform, is contributing its digital capabilities and innovative approach to trusted recommendations, while REYON Water is serving as the official Hydration Partner, ensuring guests remain refreshed throughout the various activities.
Also joining the growing network of indigenous partners is Agile Cycle, an electric mobility venture and the Official Mobility Partner of the Homecoming. The company will provide mobility support during the week, including the much-anticipated Scooter Ride with His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III.
The partnership reflects Agile Cycle’s commitment to smart and sustainable mobility and its vision of providing accessible and innovative transportation solutions.
The indigenous business support is complemented by an expanding network of leading brands and organisations, including MAGGI® (Nestlé Nigeria), Sterling Bank, Seaman’s Schnapps, Loatsad Promomedia, Enugu Air and ORÍKÌ, among other supporting organisations.
Speaking on the growing partnership, Ade Mabo, a member of The Royal Order of Iwere and the IGHC organising committee, expressed appreciation to the indigenous businesses and other organisations backing the initiative.
“It is deeply encouraging to see indigenous Itsekiri brands and organisations nationwide recognise the significance of the Itsekiri Global Homecoming and choose to support it. Their involvement reflects the strength of our entrepreneurial community and the shared belief that we can come together to celebrate our heritage while creating meaningful opportunities for our people and our Kingdom.”
Mabo added that the support of the various partners would contribute significantly to the success and impact of the Homecoming, expressing gratitude to all organisations lending their platforms, expertise and resources to the initiative.
The Itsekiri Global Homecoming 2026 will feature an array of activities, including royal pageantry, cultural showcases, culinary experiences, business and development conversations, heritage tours, entertainment and the iconic Royal Warri River Regatta.
The celebrations will culminate in activities marking the 5th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty, the Olu of Warri, further positioning the Homecoming as a major platform for reconnecting the Itsekiri global community and showcasing the cultural richness and economic potential of the Warri Kingdom.
With increasing support from indigenous enterprises and major corporate brands, the IGHC 2026 is gathering momentum as a significant celebration of Iwere identity, heritage, enterprise and unity, while creating a platform through which the Warri Kingdom can connect with Nigeria and the wider world.
