IGP Egbetokun Orders Redeployment Of AIG Tunji Disu To Force CID Annex, Alagbon

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the immediate posting of AIG Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the new Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.

The redeployment, which takes immediate effect, was approved on Monday, February 2, 2026, the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) reports.

Prior to this appointment, AIG Disu served as the AIG in charge of the Special Protection Unit (SPU), where he was widely credited for strengthening VIP protection operations and internal security protocols.

A highly experienced and respected senior officer, Disu has previously held strategic command positions, including Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, and Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, among other notable postings that defined his career in proactive policing and operational leadership.

He was formally decorated with the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police on March 25, 2025, a promotion many observers described as well-earned.

His redeployment to the Force CID Annex, Alagbon, is seen as a strategic move by the police high command aimed at reinforcing criminal investigation, intelligence coordination, and operational efficiency at one of the nation’s most critical investigative hubs.
