Governor Oyebanji Visits ADC Governorship Candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, Seeks Inclusive Governance

Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Monday evening paid a courtesy visit to the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the just concluded governorship election, Ambassador Dare Bejide, at his residence in Ado-Ekiti.

The visit formed part of Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to fostering unity, inclusiveness, and bipartisan cooperation in the overall interest of Ekiti State following the June 20 governorship election.

It would be recalled that shortly after the official announcement of the election results, Governor Oyebanji had personally reached out by telephone to the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Wole Oluyede, and the ADC candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, congratulating them for their participation in the democratic process and assuring them of subsequent personal visits.

In keeping with that promise, the Governor had earlier visited Dr Oluyede at his residence alongside some party leaders before Monday’s visit to Ambassador Bejide.

During the meeting, Governor Oyebanji and Ambassador Bejide held fruitful discussions centred on the continued growth, peace, and development of Ekiti State. The Governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to work with all stakeholders irrespective of political affiliation in order to advance the collective aspirations of the people.

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Jide Awe, was also present during the visit.

Governor Oyebanji’s post-election consultations have continued to attract commendation from political stakeholders and residents, who view the initiative as a demonstration of mature leadership, political inclusiveness, and statesmanship.
