Chemical and Allied Products PLC Marks WINGS Anniversary with Nationwide Outreach for Women, Vulnerable Communities

Lagos, March 31, 2026 – Chemical and Allied Products PLC (CAP PLC) has commemorated the second anniversary of its Women’s Inclusive Network for Growth and Success (WINGS) with a nationwide outreach programme targeting women and vulnerable communities across Nigeria.

The initiative, held as part of activities marking International Women’s Month, saw CAP employees undertake community visits and social impact projects in multiple locations, including orphanages and underserved communities in the Federal Capital Territory, Edo and Kano States.

At the forefront of the outreach were visits to Noble Homes Orphanage in Kubwa, Abuja, Eghosa Orphanage Home in Benin, and communities in Gaya and Madobi Local Government Areas of Kano State. During the engagements, volunteers distributed food items and clothing, while also conducting sensitisation sessions on hygiene, personal care and general wellbeing for women and children.

Managing Director of CAP PLC, Bolarin Okunowo, described WINGS as a strategic platform for advancing inclusion within the organisation and extending impact to host communities.

“WINGS reflects our belief that inclusive organisations are better positioned to deliver sustainable impact. Beyond the workplace, we are committed to supporting women in communities where we operate, particularly in sectors where they remain underrepresented,” she said.

Okunowo noted that the initiative has, over the past two years, evolved into a structured programme focused on mentorship, leadership development and community engagement, with a strong emphasis on expanding opportunities for women.

The anniversary activities concluded with a commemorative event in Lagos, where staff and partners reviewed the programme’s progress and reaffirmed CAP’s commitment to gender inclusion and social impact.

The milestone also marked a leadership transition within WINGS. The founding president, Aramide Nwokediuko, completed her tenure, handing over to new co-presidents Ijeoma Barnaby-Nsikak and Adefolahan Ojo. The new leadership structure is expected to deepen collaboration and broaden participation across the organisation.

Since its inception, WINGS has impacted more than six communities nationwide, delivering mentorship programmes, health education and empowerment initiatives for women and children. Internally, the platform has supported female employees through leadership training, skills development and structured mentorship aimed at accelerating career growth.

As the initiative enters its third year, CAP PLC says it will scale up its mentorship network, strengthen community partnerships and expand programmes designed to drive the economic and social advancement of women across Nigeria.
