Adeleke: Osun Victory Belongs to the People, I Will Not Disappoint You

…Governor Extends Olive Branch to Opponents, Pledges Faster Development, Industrialisation

OSOGBO, OSUN STATE — Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed profound gratitude to the people of the state for renewing their confidence in his administration, pledging to consolidate on his achievements and accelerate the development of the state during his second term.

Governor Adeleke, while reacting to his victory at the polls, described the outcome as a victory for the people of Osun State and commended them for their resilience, courage and unwavering commitment to democracy.

He assured the people that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him, stressing that his administration would reinforce its areas of strength, address identified shortcomings and build on the progress recorded in the state.

Adeleke, however, called on all residents of the state to put the election behind them and embrace peace, forgiveness and unity, insisting that the election should not divide the people.

“There is no victor, no vanquished. I extend the olive branch to all my co-contestants. I am the Governor of all,” he declared.

The governor also paid tribute to victims of the pre-election violence, observing a minute of silence in their honour and praying for the peaceful repose of their souls.

He urged traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders across the state to take the lead in the healing and reconciliation process, saying that peace remained essential to the sustainable development of Osun.

According to him, the renewed mandate comes with a greater responsibility to deliver on the aspirations of the people and further improve the state’s economic and social fortunes.

“To the people of Osun, you have entrusted me with another four years. I will reinforce our strong points, correct our shortcomings and build on the progress we have made,” Adeleke said.

He declared that Osun was “on the march again,” promising that his administration would accelerate development, expand the reach of good governance and intensify efforts to transform the state from a predominantly civil service economy into an industrial state and a preferred destination for investors.

The governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support for a free and fair electoral process.

He further commended lovers of democracy within Nigeria and across the world, with particular appreciation to members of the media for what he described as their firm commitment to democratic values.

Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, development and the welfare of all residents of Osun State, irrespective of political affiliation.

He called on citizens to unite behind the state’s development agenda, stressing that the task ahead requires collective effort, reconciliation and a shared commitment to building a more prosperous Osun State.
