Sarki Fulani of Lagos Mourns Bamanga Tukur, Describes Him as Father and Family Friend
The Sarkin Fulani of Lagos and Chairman, Council of Fulani Chiefs, South-West Nigeria, His Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, has mourned the death of former Governor of the defunct Gongola State (now Adamawa and Taraba states), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, describing him as a beloved father, elder and close family friend.
He said the late Tafidan Adamawa was much more than a respected elder and distinguished statesman, stressing that he regarded him as a father who was particularly close to his late father.
“Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, Tafidan Adamawa, was much more than a respected elder and distinguished statesman to us; he was like a father to me and was very close to my late father,” Bambado said.
According to him, the bond, affection, respect and friendship between the two families remained a cherished relationship.
The Sarki Fulani said he would forever remember Tukur for his fatherly counsel, kindness, wisdom, humility and warmth towards him and his family.
“His passing has left a great void in our hearts and in the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him,” he said.
Bambado, who spoke on behalf of his family, the Family of the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos and the entire Fulani community in South-West Nigeria, extended his heartfelt condolences to Tukur’s immediate family, relatives, friends and associates.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds, illuminate and expand his grave and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength, patience and comfort for the bereaved family, urging them to take solace in the noble legacy left behind by the late statesman.
“We mourn with you, we pray with you, and we stand with you in this moment of grief,” Bambado said to the deceased’s family.
