NCS Lilypond Export Command Gets New Acting Controller as Ariyibi Retires
Comptroller Ariyibi formally handed over the affairs of the Command to Deputy Comptroller Olusola O. Salako, who has assumed duty as the Acting Customs Area Controller. The transition was conducted in line with established administrative procedures of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Speaking during the handing-over ceremony, the outgoing CAC expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, the management of the Service, officers and men of the Command, as well as stakeholders for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure.
As he bowed out of the Service after a distinguished career, Ariyibi urged officers and men of Lilypond Export Command to extend the same level of commitment and cooperation to his successor. He charged them to sustain the operational standards and achievements recorded during his tenure and expressed confidence that the new leadership would build on the existing foundation.
In his response, the Acting CAC, Deputy Comptroller Olusola O. Salako, commended Comptroller Ariyibi for his meritorious service and contributions to the development of Lilypond Export Command and the Nigeria Customs Service.
Salako pledged to provide purposeful, responsive and professional leadership, with a strong focus on trade facilitation, regulatory compliance, anti-smuggling operations and effective stakeholder engagement.
He called on officers and men of the Command to maintain discipline, professionalism and a strong sense of collective responsibility, stressing that teamwork remains essential to achieving the Service’s mandate and the strategic objectives of the Command.
The Acting CAC also solicited the continued cooperation of stakeholders, noting that their support would be critical to strengthening the Command’s operations and enhancing its contribution to national economic development.
The leadership transition formally brings Comptroller Ariyibi’s tenure as Customs Area Controller of Lilypond Export Command to an end, while marking the commencement of Deputy Comptroller Salako’s tenure as Acting CAC.
The officers and men of Lilypond Export Command commended the outgoing controller for his dedicated and distinguished service and wished him a fulfilling retirement. They also welcomed the Acting CAC and wished him a successful and impactful tenure.
