LG NeoChef Brings Jollof Rice, Moi Moi and Suya to Microwave Cooking with New African AutoCook Menu

LG NeoChef Brings Jollof Rice, Moi Moi and Suya to Microwave Cooking with New African AutoCook Menu

LG Electronics has introduced an enhanced NeoChef microwave designed to bring greater convenience to African kitchens, with a new African AutoCook Menu featuring programmes for popular Nigerian and African dishes.

Built around the theme, “Cook the African Way, The NeoChef Way,” the new NeoChef is designed to go beyond the traditional functions of reheating and defrosting, giving households more convenient ways to prepare familiar meals.

The appliance comes with 28 AutoCook programmes, including 20 African-inspired menus and eight additional Arabic and European options. The African programmes cover a selection of popular dishes, including Jollof Rice, Moi Moi, Poundo Yam, Coconut Rice, Pap, Asun, Chicken-Dodo Suya, Vegetable Fried Rice, Jollof Pasta, Fish in Curry Sauce, Suya Roasted Fish, Plantain Cheesy Bite and Grilled Corn.

According to LG, the dedicated programmes automatically optimise cooking settings for selected dishes, helping users reduce guesswork and achieve more consistent results.

“At LG, innovation begins with understanding our consumers. The African AutoCook Menu reflects our commitment to creating products that resonate with local cultures and lifestyles. Nigerians are passionate about their food, and this new NeoChef Microwave enables families to prepare many of their favourite meals more conveniently without compromising on authentic taste,” said Mr. Oktae Kim, Product Director, Home Appliances Solutions, LG Electronics West Africa.

The LG NeoChef MH8265CIS features a 42-litre capacity, 1,200W microwave output and grill functionality. It is also equipped with LG’s Smart Inverter Technology, which is designed to provide more precise power control for even heating and defrosting.

Other features include LG’s EasyClean™ antibacterial coating, touch controls and multiple cooking functions aimed at making everyday meal preparation easier.

For LG, the introduction of the African AutoCook Menu represents more than an expansion of its recipe selection. The company says it reflects a broader strategy of adapting technology to local lifestyles, culinary traditions and consumer preferences.

By programming the appliance around familiar foods such as Jollof Rice, Moi Moi, Poundo Yam and Suya Roasted Fish, LG is seeking to reposition the microwave as more than an appliance for reheating leftovers. The company says the technology is intended to give consumers greater flexibility in preparing everyday meals while reducing the time and effort involved in routine cooking.

The inclusion of Arabic and European menus also gives users the opportunity to prepare a wider variety of meals, adding versatility to the appliance.

With increasingly busy lifestyles influencing how households approach meal preparation, LG says the enhanced NeoChef is designed to help consumers save time while continuing to enjoy familiar flavours and dishes.

The NeoChef Microwave with African AutoCook Menu is now available at LG Brand Shops, Fouani Showrooms and authorised LG retail partners nationwide.
