Oyebanji Joins Governor Ahmed Aliyu to Celebrate Sokoto’s Third Anniversary, Commends Community Security Initiative and Infrastructure Development

SOKOTO, NIGERIA – Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, on Thursday joined his Sokoto State counterpart, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, in commemorating the third anniversary of the Sokoto State administration, participating in key events that underscored the state’s commitment to security, infrastructure, and sustainable development.

Governor Oyebanji attended the Graduation and Passing Out Parade (POP) of the newly recruited 1,500 Sokoto State Marshals and Community Corps, a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening community-based security and enhancing public safety across the state.

The colourful ceremony, held as part of activities marking Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s third year in office, showcased the administration’s resolve to improve grassroots security through collaboration between government and local communities.

Following the parade, Governor Oyebanji joined Governor Aliyu in commissioning the Arkilla–Gidan Fulani–Gidan Dare Road Project, another milestone project delivered to commemorate the administration’s anniversary. The road is expected to improve connectivity, facilitate economic activities, and enhance the quality of life for residents in the benefiting communities.

Governor Oyebanji’s presence at the anniversary celebrations further highlighted the cordial relationship between the governments of Ekiti and Sokoto States and reflected the spirit of inter-state cooperation in advancing good governance and national development.
