MAGGI Promotes Food Safety Awareness Through Value Chain Engagements
MAGGI has reinforced its commitment to food quality and safety by engaging stakeholders across its value chain in a series of immersive activities held to commemorate World Food Safety Day.

The initiative brought together suppliers, distributors, consumers, journalists, and digital content creators to deepen understanding of the processes involved in delivering safe and quality food products to Nigerian households.
The programme featured interactive sessions designed to provide participants with firsthand knowledge of MAGGI’s production standards, ingredient sourcing, and quality assurance systems. Suppliers were exposed to the company’s quality requirements and manufacturing benchmarks, while distributors received guidance on best practices for product handling, storage, and warehousing to preserve product quality across the distribution chain.
Consumers also participated in engagement sessions with company experts, gaining insight into the ingredients, production processes, and expertise behind MAGGI products.

A major highlight of the programme was a guided factory tour at Nestlé Nigeria’s Agbara Factory, where journalists and digital content creators witnessed the production journey of MAGGI cubes from locally sourced soya beans to finished products.
Participants observed how soya beans supplied by Nigerian farmers undergo controlled fermentation processes and advanced manufacturing procedures to achieve the taste, quality, and consistency associated with the MAGGI brand.
The factory experience also demonstrated the link between traditional African food preparation techniques and modern food manufacturing, with fermentation methods inspired by local seasonings such as iru, dawadawa, and ogiri.
Visitors were further exposed to the company’s food safety and quality assurance measures, including ingredient testing, production monitoring, packaging standards, and distribution controls aimed at ensuring product safety at every stage.
Speaking during the engagement, Funmi Osineye, Category Manager, Culinary, Nestlé Nigeria, said quality and food safety remain shared responsibilities among all stakeholders within the food value chain.
According to her, MAGGI’s continuous engagement with farmers, suppliers, distributors, retailers, and consumers helps strengthen collaboration and improve understanding of the processes behind its products.
She noted that creating opportunities for dialogue and factory visits enables stakeholders to better appreciate the expertise and standards that sustain consumer trust in MAGGI products.
Also speaking, the Factory Manager of Nestlé Nigeria Agbara Factory, Talla Fall, stated that quality and food safety are integrated into every stage of the company’s operations, from raw material sourcing to manufacturing and packaging.
He said the initiative offered participants the opportunity to witness the rigorous systems and scientific processes involved in maintaining the standards expected from MAGGI products.
The programme also featured an interactive cooking session where participants prepared meals using MAGGI products while discussing taste, nutrition, quality, and responsible product usage.
Nestlé Nigeria said the initiative forms part of its broader commitment to transparency, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of safe, nutritious, and quality food products to consumers across the country.
