200-Level EKSU Student Wins Brand-New Car as MTN Live It 100 on Campus Rewards Excellence

A 200-level Political Science Education student of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Adepoju Adeleye, has emerged as the winner of a brand-new car at MTN Nigeria’s Live It 100 on Campus activation, the highlight of a three-day youth empowerment and entertainment programme held at the university.

The event, which drew thousands of students and youths from the host community, rewarded participants with a wide range of prizes, including refrigerators, laptops, washing machines, microwaves, smartphones, power banks and other gift items, reinforcing MTN’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians.

An emotional Adeleye described winning the grand prize as a dream come true, saying he was still trying to come to terms with his good fortune.

“I have been using MTN for a long time and have always dreamed of becoming one of its ambassadors. Winning this car has strengthened that dream, and I hope MTN will one day give me the opportunity to represent the brand,” he said.

Speaking at the event, MTN Nigeria’s Senior Manager, Segment Marketing, Temilolu Salako, said the annual experiential campaign was created to inspire young people to pursue excellence while providing opportunities to develop their talents, learn new skills and connect with peers.

According to Salako, this year’s edition, themed “Live It 100,” encourages students to give their best in every aspect of their lives, whether in academics, entrepreneurship, entertainment or personal development.

“The message behind this year’s theme is simple: whatever you choose to do, give it your 100 per cent. Whether it is your education, your business, your talent or your passion, we want young people to know that they can achieve their dreams by giving their very best,” he said.

He added that the initiative also creates platforms for student entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses, access empowerment opportunities and acquire skills that support their ambitions.

Salako noted that the EKSU activation followed a successful outing at Delta State University earlier in the year and is part of MTN’s nationwide campus tour, which will visit several tertiary institutions across Nigeria before the end of the year.

The President of the Ekiti State University Students’ Union Government (SUG), Anjola Osunyomi, applauded MTN Nigeria for bringing the initiative to the institution, describing it as a valuable investment in student development.

He said the three-day programme extended beyond entertainment by providing meaningful opportunities through competitions, interactive activities, entrepreneurship support and prize presentations that inspired students to showcase their talents.

Osunyomi noted that the initiative reflects the kind of collaboration students expect from corporate organisations, adding that such partnerships enrich campus life while encouraging creativity, innovation and excellence among undergraduates.

He also expressed satisfaction that the MTN Live It 100 on Campus programme was hosted during his tenure as SUG president and urged more organisations to partner with the university through similar youth-focused initiatives.
